SLIPPERY WHEN WET by erotic romance author Allie Standifer is a phenomenal installment in the Toys-4-Us series; and can be read as a stand alone story. 

Heading home after a fabulous birthday weekend with her ‘gal pals’ all Petra Harbor can think about is diving into her pool, take a few laps then spending two hours in her state of the art shower, but things do not go as planned.  Petra is not a damsel in distress typ of woman, but when her new the remote to her garage has a kink she has no one else to call but her ex’s best friend and the star of all her fantasies, Roman Hunter.

Two years of waiting for Petra Harbor to get over what his ex best friend did to her has played havoc on not only Roman Hunter’s libido, but heart.  When Petra calls, just the sound of her voice has him primed and ready to get her in his bed.

Convincing the relationship weary Petra is one hurdle he is ready to break down.  And with that sweet little arsenal of sex toys, a pool, a washer set on spin cycle and the state of the art shower he put in himself, Roman is more than up to the challenge to prove not all men are jerk.  That the good guys really do exist and get the whole shebang in the end: wife, two point five kids and a dog named Duchess.  What more could Petra ask for?   

Out of the whole serious so far I have to say SLIPPERY WHENWET is stacking up to be one of my favorites.  Standifer grabs readers’ attention with her laugh-out-loud smart-ass dialogue between her main protagonists.  This literally charms the pants off of readers.  I have been waiting to read Petra’s story from the moment I read about this series.  The series is based on Petra’s thirty-fifth birthday party thrown by Alix (A LONG TIME COMIN’) that consisted of the sassy seven getting together with loads of wine and a sexy toy party that would spin these wild and saucy stories into motion.  Okay, so I was desperately interested to see how these seven’s individual stories played out.  One major draw of SLIPPERY WHEN WET is the devilishly sexy tanned and toned architecture, Roman Hunter.  I was panting before he knocked on Petra’s window scaring the life out of her.  After that, I was a goner.  Beside Roman being drop-dead gorgeous, Standifer has created one true-blue down to earth good guy.  For years, Roman wanted Petra with an undeniable passion, but she was his best friends at the time.  He held true to the golden ‘guy rule’ of not stealing your bro’s girl.  He waited patiently for Petra to get over her botched relationship before staking a claim.  Oh boy, and what a staking he did.

For readers not familiar with Standifer writing get ready to split a stitch with two wise cracking characters that charm readers with their continues harmless banter.  Standifer has a way of breathing life into her characters making them come to life right before her readers’ eyes.

I am all about a book having a plot to go along with feisty characters and steamy love scenes.  Not to worry, SLIPPERY WHEN WET has all that and so much more.  I found myself more than once having, “awe, I want a man like Roman Hunter” moments.  Through the hot and juicy sex and wise cracking quips, Standsifer shows readers the heart of one severely relationship weary woman and the man that proves not all men are scared of that one ten letter word… C-O-M-M-I-T-M-E-N-T.

Standifer is a beautiful storyteller, with strong flesh and blood characters that fairly shimmer with excitement charming readers with a story  that delights and entertains with a romance that sparks the pages from beginning to end.
